Below are some great upcoming events so you can register, plan ahead or mark your calendars! Below are dates and available information, though some events have not put their registration information up yet.
November 4-5 - Heartland Dulcimer Fest at the First Christian Church, Elizabethtown KY. nationally known instructors in mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, tin whistle, native flute, celtic harp and more. This is a good one if you cannot spend a night away because you can carpool or drive and still have a great day with classes, jams and vendor visits. November 10-13 - Hindman Dulcimer Homecoming. This is a pretty traditional event with Don Pedi from NC, UK's own Ron Pen and others. Classes, jams and fun. www.artisancenter.net/ homecoming for more information on registration and accomodations.
January 6-8 -Kentucky Music Week Winter Weekend. Takes place again at the Ramada Plaza on Hurstbourne Pkwy in Louisville. Details and registration information will be up on the KMW website in mid-October. www.kentuckymusicweek.com
February-March - OLLI at UK plans to offer a beginner/novice class for older students during the daytime. For details check the OLLI at UK website in the late fall.
February 24-26 - Ohio Valley Gathering, Lexington KY - OVG will take place again at the Lexington downtown Hilton. Concerts Fri. and Sat. nights, classes all day Saturday, hymn sing Sun. morning, many vendors, and lots of jams. For registration information www.ohiovalleygathering.com - 2017 information will be up soon! The hotel also has reserved a block of rooms if you want to stay up and play late into the night!
July 25-30 - Kentucky Music Week in Bardstown. Information on KMW, one of the best dulcimer/trad music festivals in the country will come out in January for hotels and registration. www.kentuckymusicweek.com
September 1-2 - Homer Ledford Festival in Winchester. Details will be released in 2017.
